From Heren 5 to SOME architects: A new name for a new era
After more than three decades as Heren 5, the architecture studio has reintroduced itself to the world as SOME architects. A new name that better reflects their values, method, and diverse team. We partnered closely with them to shape this transformation from the ground up.

This wasn’t just a rebrand. It was a shift in identity. With a growing, international team and a clearly defined methodology centered around social design, the studio needed a name and brand that could carry their legacy forward while embracing the present. We developed the new name SOME architects, short for Social Method Architects. It reflects their collaborative, research-driven approach to architecture that connects people, places, and communities.
Visually, the brand is stripped back, confident, and precise. The typographic system is purposeful and understated, echoing the studio’s grounded, methodical way of working. A single bold blue runs through the brand, calm yet distinctive. Thin, modular lines appear throughout, suggesting structure, clarity, and connection. The result is an identity that feels both architectural and human, analytical yet warm.
From naming and narrative to digital design and rollout, we crafted a cohesive identity that is flexible, timeless, and ready to grow alongside the studio. The new website, some.eu, ties it all together as a clear and elegant showcase of their work, team, and story.
